In appreciation of the massive support from its fans last year which led to its promotion to the elite Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), the Ikorodu City FC has declared its first home match free for its fans. In return , the club expected another massive support and best behaviour.
Oga Boys will play against El – Kanemi of Maiduguri Borno State, at 5:30pm at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday.
The Club President, Sanmi Doherty, in a statement on Saturday extended the gesture to the teeming fans of the club, stating that he wants them to march again with the team in the top flight.

Oga Boys drew away last Sunday in their first match of the 2025/26 NPF league when they played 0 -0 against Kwara United in Ilorin.
“I would like to welcome every one of us back to the Arena for another season of football action here in Lagos with our darling club, Ikorodu City.
“It was an overwhelming first season in the Nigeria Premier Football League last season and I want to appreciate the support of every one of you our fans who turned up massively for us, game after game, home and away, to cheer the boys to victory.

“You all stood by us in defeat, pain, agony and made sure to be the loudest voices even in the face of trepidation which led us to achieving beyond our wildest imaginations.
“This season, we begin again and march into the Arena for the first time in this season tomorrow. We do not want to do this season alone. we want your support just as you’ve done in previous years.
“This club belongs to us all and we would rather do this journey with you our fans at all ends of the Arena,” he said.
Doherty also charged fans to be good ambassadors of the club by treating the opponents with respect and love while also making their support for their darling team louder across the arena

“I implore us all to be on our best behaviour and promote the club in positive light. Your passion is never in doubt and we would not want to have any reason to play our games without you. As a result, I urge us to to welcome opponents graciously, treat them with respect but also making sure your voices are heard and showing them the Arena is ours.
“Together, we will achieve stability in this our second season in the top flight.
“It is very easy to lose sight on the goal after season we had last time out. However, we remain focused on the goal, we want a dominant name in the league and in the country before we begin to explore bigger goals.

“Thank you all for always being there for Ikorodu City FC. We are ready for the new season and with you all we can achieve more greatness.
“Let’s go Oga Boys! See you at the Arena.”
